What We Had For Dinner- Spaghetti Squash and Meat Sauce

We have eaten spaghetti squash a lot, even before Stimulock, but it always seemed to have a "crunch" texture that I didn't care much for. Last nights dinner was a different story. I saw the "Crock Pot Spaghetti Squash and Meat Balls" on the Pinterest Stimulock Page and I had to try it.

Who doesn't like an easy crock pot meal?

What You'll Need:
Stimulock Protocol Spaghetti Sauce
1LB - Ground Turkey/Beef (we are turkey eaters)
1 - Spaghetti Squash
Crock Pot

Cook your ground turkey/beef - we like to add seasoning to ours like garlic
Cut your Spaghetti Squash in half (right down the middle - NOT long ways)

Place Meat, Sauce, & Spaghetti Squash in Crock Pot
* add a little water if needed but be careful not to add too much

Turn on low for 10 hours (we were headed to work)
       * Turn in on High for 4 hours if you are making it from home and not leaving

When the time you choose to cook it is up, remove the spaghetti squash and scrape out the spaghetti like noodles inside.

Measure out half a cup of spaghetti squash, half a cup of sauce, and 5oz of meat.

Tada! Dinner is served & the spaghetti is SUPER tender, NO CRUNCH! YES! Success :)

Do you like our "Fine China? - AKA Paper Plates ;)

It was so yummy. We had enough left over for both of our lunches today, and it was great warmed up as well! This is the ONLY way we will be having spaghetti from now on. The days of cooking spaghetti squash in the oven are O.V.E.R.

Water + Water + Water = Bathroom...and more

WATER. SO MUCH WATER.

If you are on the Stimulock journey then you know water is a VITAL part of your day, but how do you keep from getting TIRED of plain water?

I'm so glad you asked.

There are so many fun ways to liven up your water. Add fruit, add lemon juice, drink herbal tea (decaf) instead (counts towards your water intake). Below is a photo I found on Pinterest that shows some fun ways to add some flavor to water.

Those look so yummy to me. I, unlike a lot of people I know, LOVE water and the plain taste is A OK with me. BUT if you are not like me, try some of the examples above and let me know which one you like best.

Fun facts about what water does for us:

Water is good for you! When in doubt try the instructions below.

What are some tips you have for drinking all of your daily water?

Easy Quick Lunch

Today's lunch is deviled eggs & cucumbers. I was having a "lazy" moment and opted for the easy pezy option.

3 boiled eggs
Mustard & Waldon Farms Mayo to taste

Like I said, easy pezy - but very yummy.

What are you having for lunch today?!

Success Story In The Making - Christy Ingalls

This is an incredible story about a sweet friend that began her Stimulock journey not too long ago. I am so glad that her husband, Jared, saw the amazing transformation in mine and JW's journey that he asked JW this question -

"What are you doing to lose all your weight?"

Of course JW told him all about the Stimulock System and the rest is history. Be encouraged as you read her story. If you would like to begin your own Stimulock Journey click here and we can get you started SOON!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi. My name is Christy and I started my Stimulock journey on July 27, 2013. I weighed my heaviest that I have ever been on that morning. I was depressed at the number I saw and felt even worse physically. I could barely walk when I got out of bed in the morning, my feet would hurt so badly. My back and knees were in a constant state of soreness.  I often woke up with headaches and generally felt bad. The funny thing is that I didn’t realize just how horrible I felt until I started Stimulock.  The first 2 load days were fun! I ate what I would normally eat, and then I would eat even more! All I had to do was take my drops 3 times a day. I didn’t weigh my 2 load mornings. I was truly terrified to see how much more weight I had put on.  Then the real work began. My first 2 days after my load days were rough. I was in total detox. My body was finally getting rid of all the harmful toxins I had been putting into it for the last 40 years.  I have been on almost every diet known to man and I’m even a Lifetime member of one particular weight loss plan. It took me a couple of days to really start to feel comfortable with the plan. Once I got the hang of it, I was off to the races.

One of the biggest benefits to my success, so far, has been joining Celebrate Recovery. I decided I needed to do something different this time. I didn’t want to fail yet again. I joined CR in February of 2013. I was going so that I could deal with my food issues. I knew all of the “right” foods and portions that I should be eating…..I just seemed to have no willpower to stop myself. So, once I had started to figure out what some of my root issues were with food and my emotions, I felt strong enough to take the next step. That’s where Stimulock came in. My husband, Jared, has a co-worker that was doing Stimulock. He and his wife were having huge success with the program, so he asked what they were doing and how we could get hooked up with a consultant.  The rest is history, as they say. We got our first order, had all the information we needed and we picked a start date.  I tell people now, when they ask me how I achieved my success thus far, that it’s just as important to find an eating plan that works as it is to figure out why we are eating what we are eating.

As a way to keep myself motivated and encouraged, I have given myself rewards for goals met. I started with 25 pound goals. At my first 25 pounds lost, I got my ear pierced. At 50 pounds down, I got an anchor tattoo inspired by Hebrews 6:19 “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” NLT version. At 75 pounds down, I got another tattoo! As you can figure out, I love tattoos. Find out what you love, and make sure to set goals for yourself and fun rewards. We are doing hard work, so when we succeed; we need to celebrate those victories!

I am currently down 80 pounds. I do not have a goal weight in mind. I’m getting my body fat percentage measured. As soon as I get into health range for that reading, I will start on my maintenance phase. I encourage you to stick with it! Remember, you can’t fix what you are putting in your mouth until you fix what’s going on with your head and heart. You are not your past, so don’t define yourself by it. Today can be the first day of the rest of your life!

Weekly Recipe - Marinara Baked Chicken

What a week! A lot went on this past week, so I am one day behind on my weekly post!
 - Forgive me please? :)

JW and I had plans to make Spaghetti Squash and Meatballs for dinner on Wednesday night, but with a HUGE project at work, I didn't end up heading home until 8:00PM. So we settled for 'ole faithful...fried eggs, cucumbers & a green smoothie.

I was still craving the Protocol Spaghetti sauce so I decided to try something that my mom use to make us growing up for my next day lunch - "Marinara Baked Chicken".
(just minus all the bad stuff )

What I did -

Made the Stimulock Protocol Spaghetti Sauce
Poured it on my 5oz of chicken tenders
sprinkled on some dried garlic, oregano, parsley, etc.
Baked at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes

It was SO yummy! Just goes to show that if you step out of your box and try something new, you JUST might have a new favorite!

Weekly Check In & Recipe

Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had a great week! As promised I wanted to check in for the week & share a recipe. Since Monday I have lost 8lbs! Incredible right? Especially since Friday night after an event a bunch of people and I went to Jose Peppers. I was so proud that I didn't cheat! I just drank my water and stuck to the realization that I had already eaten dinner, wasn't hungry, and kept my mind on the fact that when I would would wake up on Saturday I would be down lbs if I just trusted the system. The next morning I woke up and was down 1lb! After I had gotten past Friday night, I decided to be extra prepared for our Young Adults outing to Buca Di Beppo. I chose a chicken salad & I brought my Walden Farms Honey Mustard Dressing. It was SO good, and I felt SO accomplished when I faced my second "real world challenge". I felt even more accomplished when I woke up this morning 1/2lb lighter. Woohoo!!

This weekend was a reminder that there will be times when it might be hard to stick to protocol foods, but it also goes to show that if I TRUST THE SYSTEM & stick to the protocol foods, I will lose, and losing is always better than gaining when your talking about weight! :)

Recipe for the week:

Apple Chips -

2 Gala Apples sliced very thin (you can use more if you want to make more)
1T of Stevia
1T of Cinnamon
Coconut Oil

Preheat Oven To 250 Degrees & Spray the bottom of your cooking sheet with a thin layer of coconut oil.

Slice the apples so they look like circles

Mix 1T of Stevia & 1T of Cinnamon

Sprinkle the Cinnamon & Sugar on the apple slices

Place Them In The Oven For An Hour (may take a little longer, be sure to watch so they don't burn)

Remove When Crispy.

I loved these so much. They are a nice alternative to your typical apple, and crunchy! Enjoy! Let me know how yours turn out!

A recipe whoops!
My sweet husband thought it would be a good idea to try to make snicker doodle cookies out of Cauliflower, Cinnamon, & Stevia....You can probably guess how they came out. (YUCK) - Good try honey. ;)
